We are looking for a responsible Community Mobiliser to join our team in Yerevan.

Right Side is a community based, democratic, human rights defender NGO, founded in January 2016 by trans activists in Armenia. It is the first and only NGO, run by and for trans people in Armenia and in the South Caucasus region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To welcome LGBTIQ+ community members and guests in the office;
  • Keep constant contact with the NGO beneficiaries;
  • Collect data and relevant information on the situation of the beneficiaries;
  • Collaborate in the dissemination of information to the community members;
  • Monitor and participate in internal and external meetings, when designated;
  • Collaborate in the mobilization of meetings, projects activities, and initiatives;
  • Collaborate in the organization of meetings and events (scheduling and confirmation of participation, preparation of material, identification of logistics needs, preparation and management of attendance lists, presentation files, etc.);
  • Record meetings, projects activities through minutes and reports;
  • Collaborate on the improvement and updating of shared files for each of the projects, initiatives, activities in the area, offered to the partners, when applicable;
  • Draft minutes of documents related to the projects and / or initiatives (letters, e-mail, terms of reference, presentations, among others), as requested;
  • Collaborate in collecting data, information and / or bibliography, whenever necessary;
  • Support in the cataloging and archiving of the physical documentation of the projects, in coordination with the Program Manager;
  • Carry out other activities when requested by the coordination.

Required qualifications:  

For this position, we are looking for a human rights activist who has been involved in NGO sector locally and/or regionally/internationally. We are looking for someone who applies a (self-)critical approach to their work, includes intersectional perspectives and accumulates a set of skills:

  • Professional with a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Linguistics or related areas and / or equivalence in professional experience;
  • At least 2 years of experience in Community Mobilization, Psychosocial Care;
  • Good knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Armenian (spoken and written);
  • A good understanding of the human rights situation for LGBTIQ+ people In Armenia;
  • Initiative person, capable to organize and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to keep contact (written and oral communication) with the beneficiaries;
  • Ability to work in teams, openness to respond positively to different points of view and criticisms regarding their individual performance, as well as make necessary adjustments;
  • Knowledge of concepts and main debates related to the issues of LGBTIQ rights, sexual orientation, sexuality and gender identity;
  • Experience in the context of emergencies is desirable;
  • Demonstrate resilience when dealing with complex and urgent tasks;
  • Be accountable for handling confidential information in support of the NGO work.

Remuneration/Salary:  

Salary will be defined according to Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO salary grid depending on candidate’s experience. Possibility of salary increase based on performance.
