Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO with the financial support of the Pink Human Rights Defender NGO has launched a project: “Fight against Stereotypes through Awareness” which is aimed at increasing the level of social involvement of transgender people fighting against gender norms and stereotypes in the Republic of Armenia.

Within the framework of the project, we are announcing the admission of participants to the “Literate Communication and Online Activism” training. Within the 5-day training, the selected participants will have the opportunity to:

• acquire knowledge about communication, digital activism, media literacy, cyber security, mobile activism, working with data and human rights protection mechanisms;
• receive one-on-one counseling from experienced professionals to reduce calls for violence and hate speech against transgender people a on the social media;
• exchange experience and ideas with other representatives of the community;
• jointly organize constructive public campaigns to promote the positive image of trans people through the Internet.

Through non-formal education, group discussions, practical exercises and counseling, the project aims to encourage the personal growth of 16 young trans activists and promote their social engagement in a literate way.

The project is open to trans people aged 18 to 30 who are living in Yerevan and in all the regions of Armenia, who are ready to conduct social media campaigns, provide peer-to-peer education, get involved in the NGO work, and start advocacy initiatives for the protection of human rights.

Deadline for applications: For the participation in the training, please fill out this application form till July 30, 2022.

Venue: Only selected participants will be notified.

Dates: August 1-5, 2022.

Frequency of the meetings: 8 hours a day.

The competition for the participation of the Academy consists of 2 rounds. Participants who successfully pass the first round based on their application will be invited for an online interview, and then the selection results will be notified.

A CERTIFICATE WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE END OF PARTICIPATION.

All the expenses related to the training participation are covered by the Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO.
