On June 16, 2022, the Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO discovered that unknown people had accessed the organization’s official website rightsidengo.com, from which they had illegally downloaded photos belonging to the organization, the official logo of the organization, and posted it at http://imsaytik.weebly .com/ website. As a result of the mentioned actions, damage was caused to the business reputation of the Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO and its copyrights were violated, in particular, the logo of the organization belongs to the organization and as a part of the charter is registered in the Agency for State Register of Legal Entities of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Based on the organization’s complaint, a criminal proceeding was initiated in the investigative department of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of the Yerevan City Department of the RA Investigative Committee in accordance with the procedure provided by the RA Criminal Procedure Code.

The Article 227 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia establishes responsibility for the illegal usage and possession of the object of copyright or related rights, up to imprisonment for a term of up to two years.

At the same time, Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO declares that it has nothing to do with the website http://imsaytik.weebly.com, and the use of the logo of the organization, as well as any other copyright object, without the permission of the organization is prohibited.
