The “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO taking care of the health of each transsexual person, starts a social assistance project, within the framework of which transsexual people are given the opportunity to consult with an endocrinologist, provided with hormonal medication, relevant clinical examinations, psychological support, etc.

The “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO as a mediator organizes an online meeting for transsexual people with an endocrinologist, and then, after the relevant instructions of the endocrinologist, the NGO directs the transsexual person to a clinical examination. Upon receipt, the answers are sent to the endocrinologist, after which the appropriate hormonal medication is prescribed, which is bought by the Organization and provided to the transsexual person who is regularly supervised by the doctor and the employee of the Organization.

Since its establishment, the “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO has been raising a number of issues related to the right to health of transgender people such as the legal gaps in gender reassignment and hormone therapy.

Thus, the purpose of this support is to prevent the use of wrong medicines among transsexual people, create accessible hormone therapy services, inform about the processes of hormone therapy and gender reassignment, and lead the beneficiaries to all the relevant specialists.

This project is implemented by the “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO within the framework of “The Covid-19 Solidarity Program for Key Populations in Eastern Partnership Countries” with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with People in Need and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee.
