Right Side is a human rights defender NGO operating in Armenia, founded in 2016 by transgender activists, becoming the first transgender community-based organization in Armenia and the region. The organization also works to protect and advance the rights of sex workers in Armenia. Its beneficiaries include transgender, sex worker, and LGBIQ people, as well as their supporters and family members. Right Side is a democratic, feminist organization guided by five strategic directions:
- Advocacy and promotion of policy reform for transgender, sex worker, and LGBIQ communities,
- Raising visibility, public awareness, and sensitivity on community issues,
- Promoting access to health services,
- Developing educational opportunities and capacities,
- Providing needs-based support, including legal, psychological, social, and financial assistance.
In 2022, Right Side also established a community-based safe space where, each month, representatives of the transgender, sex worker, and LGBIQ communities gather to participate in socio-psychological, educational, and informational events
