One of the goals of the Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO is to provide free psychological services to Trans, LGBIQ, and sex worker individuals, as well as their supporters and family members, contributing to their overall well-being. The provision of psychological services is a priority for the organisation, as members of the Trans, LGBIQ, and sex worker communities often face stigma, discrimination, and physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as neglect and other challenges that directly impact their mental health and quality of life.

To receive psychological assistance, beneficiaries should contact the organisation’s community outreach worker, who will inform the organisation’s president and place the individual on a waiting list. Psychological support is provided in a specially designated room on the organisation’s premises. Right Side NGO cooperates exclusively with psychologists who have experience working with the Trans, LGBIQ, and sex worker communities, are gender-sensitive, and are familiar with the relevant terminology.

The core principles of a psychologist’s work include:

  • Confidentiality: Confidentiality is one of the most important principles of psychological work. The psychologist is committed to not disclosing any information received during individual sessions.

  • Unconditional Acceptance: The psychologist accepts the individual as they are, without conditions or criticism. Upholding this principle is essential for building a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship.

  • Principle of Well-Being: The primary goal of psychological support is the well-being of the individual. The psychologist respects each person’s uniqueness and works based on the individual’s own understanding of well-being.
