Daluzyan is under my personal protection - Nikol Pashinyan

On October 13, in his speech to the National Assembly, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the controversial film “Mel”, specifically stating:

“I will not allow the person who raised the flag of the Republic of Armenia to be trampled underfoot. Daluzyan is under my personal protection.”

“The three-time European champion has reached the brink of suicide due to the public reaction.”

“When a person wears popular sneakers, we have no problem with him, when he has a problem, he suffers, we cross him out.”

“This is cheap propaganda for those deprived of a bowl of porridge, there is no porridge, their opportunities to eat are closed forever.”

“Iravunki Kokhm” Human Rights NGO welcomes this speech by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the debates aimed at improving human rights by government representatives in the National Assembly.

However, taking into account the gaps in the protection of human rights in the Republic of Armenia, the OIC team will continue to be consistent with the government's further work and will closely monitor every speech of state officials.

It should be recalled that by the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, the Government of the Republic of Armenia allocated 20 million drams for the filming of a film about "Mel" Mel Daluzyan, which had become the subject of wide public discussions, some nationalist and extremist groups had organized rallies, protests and demanded the resignation of the Minister of Education and Science.
