
Admission to the Competent Communication and Online Activism course

"Right Side" human rights NGO, with the financial support of "Pink" human rights NGO, is launching the "Fighting Stereotypes through Awareness" program, which aims to increase the level of social inclusion of transgender people in the Republic of Armenia by fighting against gender norms and stereotypes.
Within the framework of the program, we are announcing admission to the "Competent Communication and Online Activism" course. During the 5-day training, selected participants will have the opportunity to:
acquire knowledge on communication, digital activism, media literacy, cybersecurity, mobile activism, data work and human rights protection mechanisms,
receive individual counseling from experienced professionals to reduce calls for violence against transgender people and hate speech on social media,
exchange experiences and ideas with other community representatives,
jointly organize constructive public campaigns to promote a positive image of trans people online.
Through non-formal education, group discussions, practical work and counseling, the program aims to encourage the personal growth of 16 young TRANS activists and promote their social engagement in a competent manner.
The course is open to trans activists aged 18 to 30 who live in Yerevan and all regions of the Republic of Armenia and are ready to implement social media campaigns, peer-to-peer education, engage in NGO work and advocate for human rights.
Application deadline: To apply for the course, please complete this application form by July 30, 2019 inclusive.
Venue: will be notified only to selected participants.
Dates: August 1-5, 2019.
Meeting frequency: 8 hours per day.
The competition for participation in the course consists of 2 stages. Based on the application, participants who successfully pass the first stage will be invited to an online interview, and then they will be notified of the selection results.
A CERTIFICATE WILL BE GIVEN AT THE END OF PARTICIPATION.
All expenses related to participation in the course are covered by the "Iravunki Pasha" human rights non-governmental organization.
