Training on Advocacy Skills for Trans, LGBIQ, Sex Worker Communities and Allies

In May 2025, Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO, with the financial support of the Nebula Fund, held a training titled "Empower & Elevate: Journey in Trans Advocacy” training aimed at strengthening the voices and skills of trans, LGBIQ, and sex worker communities, as well as their allies.
The training brought together around twenty participants from different regions of Armenia who are engaged in human rights work and community-based activism. The goal was to enhance their advocacy skills, support their engagement in public policy processes, and strengthen solidarity in the face of ongoing discrimination.
Throughout the program, participants explored and discussed:
- Key priorities in protecting the rights of trans and LGBIQ people.
- The growing impact of anti-gender movements and ways to resist them.
- How hate speech spreads and how to effectively respond to it.
- The harm caused by false narratives on social media and their real-world consequences.
- Local-level advocacy planning and tools for action.
The training included interactive group work, situational analysis, and role-play exercises, helping participants build practical skills and develop shared strategies for future advocacy efforts.
Beyond the learning outcomes, the gathering created space for connection, trust, and mutual support within and across communities.
Right Side NGO extends its sincere thanks to the Nebula Fund for supporting this initiative and reaffirms its commitment to empowering trans, LGBIQ, and sex worker communities and advancing their human rights.
