

Biography
A. J. is a dedicated human rights advocate and policy expert with extensive experience in promoting equality, combating discrimination, and advancing social justice. Based in Armenia, she has worked with numerous national and international organizations, leading initiatives that address complex human rights issues, including gender-based violence, hate speech, hate crimes, and the rights of marginalized communities.
As the Program Manager at the Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO, A. J. plays a central role in the organization’s advocacy efforts to advance the rights of transgender and LGBIQ individuals in Armenia. She leads impactful projects that drive social change, ensuring the inclusion of marginalized voices in policy discussions and civil society. A.’s responsibilities include designing and executing fundraising strategies, managing key programs, and fostering strategic partnerships with national and international stakeholders to support advocacy initiatives.
A. J. is deeply involved in the NGO’s advocacy work, using her expertise to promote legal and societal reforms for LGBTIQ individuals. She actively engages in high-level advocacy with governmental bodies, international organizations, and civil society groups to address the systemic barriers faced by transgender and LGBIQ communities. Her work is grounded in an intersectional feminist approach, focusing on how gender, sexuality, and other factors intersect to create unique forms of discrimination.
A.'s leadership extends to policy development, where she has contributed to the creation of policy briefs and driven initiatives to improve legal protections for marginalized groups in Armenia. Her advocacy also includes raising awareness of human rights violations, such as hate crimes and gender-based violence, and promoting social justice through cross-movement collaboration.
A. holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and European Studies and has completed numerous international certifications in human rights, international law, and leadership development. Her research, focusing on civic participation, migration policy, and LGBTIQ rights, has been widely recognized and informs her advocacy for inclusive policies.
