October: A Month of Creativity, Learning, and Solidarity
October 2025 was a month filled with creative, educational, and community-strengthening initiatives for our community.
On October 1, we held a creative workshop where eight participants used poster-making to express their inner world, their understanding of identity, and their perspective on the history of the trans movement. This creative process became a unique opportunity for self-reflection, rethinking perceptions of one’s body, and deepening personal connection with the community’s history. The workshop was rich in emotional honesty and contributed both to participants’ self-expression and to strengthening mutual trust and solidarity.
On October 8, we held an English-language discussion with fifteen community members. The discussion focused on the rights of trans sex workers and served as an active platform for exchanging ideas, developing educational skills, and expanding knowledge of human rights. The meeting not only helped participants improve their language skills, but also created a safe space to voice the challenges they face and propose visions for solutions.
October 15 was dedicated to painting, with the aim of strengthening inter-community bonds and promoting collaboration. Twelve LGBTQ+ participants took part. They created artworks on open themes, expressing their emotions, values, and their sense of community unity. This activity fostered deeper communication between different groups, encouraging mutual understanding and respect, and creating a shared space for creativity and cohesion.
On October 22, another discussion was held on the key challenges faced by sex workers, attended by twelve participants. The meeting gave them the opportunity to speak about the main difficulties they encounter in their daily lives. Participants shared personal experiences, observations, and suggestions for possible solutions, highlighting the importance of understanding community needs in a systemic way and strengthening support mechanisms. The discussion also contributed to the development of English communication skills, enabling an open, in-depth, and multifaceted conversation.
The month concluded on October 29 with a community screening of the documentary "Paris Is Burning", attended by nine participants. The film depicts the culture, identity, and survival struggles of the trans and queer community, which in turn helped deepen participants’ self-understanding, raise awareness, and appreciate LGBTQ+ cultural heritage.
October became a period during which community members not only learned from one another, but also strengthened mutual support, amplified their collective voice, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue defending their rights and well-being with determination.
