Call for Proposals: Development of a Business Model and Financial Sustainability Strategy
Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO invites experienced individual consultants, business development experts, social entrepreneurship specialists, strategic planning professionals, and consulting firms to submit proposals for the development of the organization's Business Model and Financial Sustainability Strategy.
Objective of the Assignment
The objective of this consultancy is to develop a practical, sustainable, and long-term business model that will strengthen the organization's financial sustainability by diversifying revenue streams, identifying social entrepreneurship opportunities, and establishing alternative financing mechanisms.
The assignment should result in a comprehensive and actionable business model that enables the organization to gradually reduce its reliance on donor funding while developing mission-aligned income-generating activities.

Right Side Human Rights Defender NGO works to promote and protect human rights, equality, non-discrimination, legal empowerment, and public awareness. The organization collaborates with local and international partners, public institutions, civil society organizations, and communities to advance human rights and democratic values.
Scope of Work
1. Market and Sector Analysis
The consultant will conduct a comprehensive assessment, including:
- Analysis of national and international best practices;
- Review of sustainable business models used by civil society and human rights organizations;
- Assessment of social entrepreneurship opportunities;
- Market demand analysis for potential products and services;
- Mapping of potential clients, partners, and stakeholders;
- Identification of the organization's competitive advantages and growth opportunities;
- Identification of potential income-generating activities.
2. Organizational Capacity Assessment
The consultant will assess the organization's existing capacities and resources, including:
- Human resources and institutional capacities;
- Existing services and programs;
- Organizational and operational resources;
- SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats);
- Identification of additional resources required for implementation of the proposed business model.
3. Business Model Development
The consultant will develop a comprehensive business model, including:
- Value Proposition;
- Customer and stakeholder segmentation;
- Potential fee-based services;
- Social entrepreneurship models;
- New products and service opportunities;
- Revenue diversification strategy;
- Sales and service delivery channels;
- Strategic partnerships;
- Key resources and core activities;
- Cost structure and revenue streams;
- Business Model Canvas (or an equivalent business model framework).
4. Financial Sustainability Strategy
The strategy should include:
- Approaches to reducing dependency on donor funding;
- Alternative revenue-generation mechanisms;
- Opportunities for fee-based services;
- Social enterprise development opportunities;
- Private sector and corporate partnership models;
- Individual giving and fundraising opportunities;
- Short-, medium-, and long-term financial sustainability scenarios;
- Financial risk assessment and mitigation recommendations.
5. Implementation Roadmap
The consultant will prepare:
- A phased implementation plan;
- Priority actions;
- Timeline for implementation;
- Required human, financial, and technical resources;
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms;
- Practical recommendations for implementation.
Expected Deliverables
Upon completion of the assignment, the consultant will deliver:
- Market and sector analysis report;
- Organizational capacity assessment report;
- Comprehensive Business Model;
- Business Model Canvas (or equivalent framework);
- Revenue Diversification Strategy;
- Social Entrepreneurship Development Plan;
- Financial Sustainability Strategy;
- Implementation Roadmap;
- Practical recommendations for implementation.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- At least five years of professional experience in business development, strategic planning, financial sustainability, social entrepreneurship, or organizational development;
- Proven experience in developing business models and financial sustainability strategies;
- Experience working with civil society organizations, NGOs, or international development programs will be considered an asset;
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and financial modeling skills;
- Experience using Business Model Canvas or similar business planning tools;
- Excellent command of Armenian and English.
