“Right Side” NGO Continues Community Education and Empowerment Activities
From January to March 2026, the “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO implemented a series of educational and community-based activities aimed at empowering Trans LGBIQ and sex worker communities, expanding educational opportunities, and fostering an environment of trust and cooperation within the community.
During this period, the organization continued to conduct English language classes designed to strengthen the communication and language skills of Trans LGBIQ people and sex workers. A total of three classes were held, attended by 9, 8, and 12 community members respectively. Through these sessions, participants had the opportunity to improve their English proficiency and develop both everyday and practical communication skills, which may contribute to their educational development as well as expand future professional opportunities.
On February 1, a community discussion meeting was organized with the aim of creating an open and safe space for sex workers and other community members to get to know each other, exchange experiences, and engage in dialogue. During the meeting, participants shared their stories, voiced their concerns, and discussed stereotypes present in society. The discussion contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and reinforcing community connections.
On March 19, a community meeting and discussion was held at the community center with sex workers and their supporters. Participants reflected on the importance of diversity and inclusion, discussed the protection of sex workers’ rights, and explored possible ways to combat discrimination and violence. The meeting also addressed access to healthcare and social services, legal protection mechanisms, and effective forms of community engagement and support. Around ten community members and allies took part in the discussion, and their active participation created an atmosphere of trust and open dialogue.
These activities represent an important step toward promoting education within the community, strengthening mutual support, and raising awareness about human rights. “Right Side” NGO will continue its efforts to support the creation of a more inclusive, safe, and equal society.
