Anti-Corruption Capacity-Building Seminar for the LGBTIQ Community
The “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO organized an anti-corruption capacity-building seminar for 30 representatives of the LGBTIQ community.
The seminar brought together LGBTIQ individuals from different regions of Armenia and Yerevan, as well as refugees and asylum seekers from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Iran, and other countries, ensuring a diverse exchange of experiences and perspectives.
The aim of the seminar was to raise participants’ awareness of different forms of corruption, their impact particularly on vulnerable groups and to introduce accessible legal protection and complaint mechanisms.
During the discussions, participants explored key forms of corruption, risks present in both public and private sectors, and the specific barriers faced by LGBTIQ individuals and refugees in accessing their rights and seeking protection. Tools for safe reporting, documentation of cases, and engagement with relevant authorities were also presented.
The seminar also served as a platform for sharing experiences, raising concerns, and jointly developing possible solutions, fostering an environment of trust and solidarity among participants.
