Digital Security and Personal Data Protection Training Course for Team Members
The “Right Side” Human Rights Defender NGO organized a training course on digital security and personal data protection for its team members.
The aim of the training was to raise participants’ awareness of threats present in the digital environment, to develop practical skills in personal data protection, secure communication, and digital self-defense, as well as to strengthen the organization’s resilience to increasing digital and informational risks.
The trainers provided a detailed overview of key digital security threats, including phishing, social engineering, data breaches, and other forms of cyberattacks. The session also addressed the specific risks faced by organizations working with vulnerable groups, such as targeted attacks, disinformation, and the spread of false narratives.
Particular attention was given to the high level of misleading narratives around cybersecurity in the Armenian context, as well as to information manipulation during pre- and post-election periods and targeting within anti-gender movements. In this context, the training contributed to the development of participants’ critical thinking, enabling them to make more informed decisions and improve their preparedness.
Participants were equipped with practical tools and skills to protect their digital environments, including password management techniques, the use of two-factor authentication, secure communication tools, and core principles of data protection.
The training also included a practical component, during which participants assessed the security level of their devices and accounts, identified vulnerabilities, and developed concrete steps to mitigate them. The training contributed to strengthening the organization’s digital security and enhancing its resilience to cyber and information threats.
