Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance

Every year, from November 13 to 19, Trans people and their allies around the world unite their voices during Transgender Awareness Week to raise public awareness about issues affecting the Trans community. The week is followed by Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20, a day to honor and remember those whose lives were taken by transphobic violence and discrimination. Trans Awareness Week and the Day of Remembrance remind us that support and solidarity with the Trans community must be continuous. We stand with Trans people - celebrating their victories, affirming their existence, and remembering those whose lives were lost to transphobia and violence.

Today, as anti-gender and anti-trans movements spread fear and hate globally, we remain steadfast. The Trans community has repeatedly shown that it stands on the frontlines, defending its rights and dismantling systems that deny freedom, dignity, and justice.

Trans Awareness Week and the Day of Remembrance remind us that visibility is power, solidarity is action, and remembrance is resistance.

Together, let’s keep building a world where every trans person can live freely, safely, and with dignity.
