Women’s Empowerment Meeting

With the financial support of the Equality Fund, Right Side Human Rights NGO organized a Women’s Empowerment Meeting aimed at enhancing the capacities of LGBTIQ+ individuals, their allies, and supporters in the areas of human rights protection, gender equality and social justice.

The core objective of the event was to provide a platform for discussions, knowledge exchange, and the development of new strategies, fostering community solidarity and inclusivity.

The meeting agenda covered key topics such as strengthening the trans movement in Armenia and the region, feminism and transfeminism, human rights protection, gaps in Armenian legislation, the impact of regional conflicts on the LGBTIQ+ community, and the rise of anti-gender movements. Participants shared their experiences, analyzed existing challenges, and formulated new approaches to enhance community advocacy and protection. Throughout the meeting, educational and participatory methods were applied, encouraging critical thinking, experience-sharing, and the development of innovative strategies. Participants conducted situational assessments, examined the challenges facing the community, and proposed solutions for future joint initiatives.

This meeting was a significant initiative that not only contributed to the professional and personal growth of participants but also reinforced solidarity and support within the LGBTQ community.
